The Valderrama Golf Club, or Club de Golf Valderrama as the Spanish call it is among the top ranking golf clubs in Europe. The Golf Club is located in the Andalusia region of southern Spain. Valderrama is a few miles from Gibralatar, it has a single 18 hole course and a 9 hole par 3 course.
Valderrama Golf was host to the Volvo Masters (1988 - 1996) and also the World Golf Championships (1999 - 2000), Valderrama prides itself as one of the best in Europe.
The course was constructed in 1974 with leading designs of Robert Trent Jones, Valderrama Golf was previously known as 'Sotogrande New'. In 1999 Valderrama golf was rated the number one golf course in mainland Europe by Golf World magazine.
The course's signature hole is the fourth hole, of spectacular beauty "La Cascada" this is a par 5 with a pond to the right of the raised green. The practice ground named the best in Europe by Nick Faldo.
