But many of clients are quick to recall their great experiences at some of the lesser known courses or hidden gems such as Cruden Bay, North Berwick, Tain, Brora or countless others. Here you may interact with the locals or even have a member as your caddie. While virtually all of the top clubs are private or have members clubs associated with the course they all accept visiting golfers. The days and times that they accept visiting golfers without an accompanying member varies from club to club. If you are looking to play the Open venues you can never start planning early enough. It’s not uncommon for our clients to plan 12-18 months in advance, but we can also arrange itineraries with 1-2 weeks notice. There are three general regions for golf in Scotland. The St. Andrews / Fife area on the east coast is a very popular region for good reason. If you are looking to get away from the crowds and enjoy some very scenic golf consider the Scottish Highlands. Royal Dornoch and Cruden Bay are two of the most scenic courses in Scotland. The latest addition to the area is the links at Castle Stuart which is receiving rave reviews. Nairn a former host of the Walker Cup and Royal Aberdeen a recent venue for the British Senior Open are two of the more well known courses. The town of St. Andrews is a great base and is home to Scotland’s oldest university. The area offers accommodations from great little guesthouses to 5 star hotels / spas. Many of hotels are close enough that you can throw your bag over your shoulder and walk to the first tee of the Old, New or Jubilee Course.

| 7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS TOUR OF TURNBERRY / TROON DAY 1: Scheduled arrival at Glasgow Airport, drive 60 minutes to Troon, your base for the next five nights. DAY 2: Play Royal Troon, host to many Open Championships. This difficult test will once again host the British Open in 2016. DAY 3: Play the historic links at Prestwick, host of the first 11 Open Championships ever played starting in 1860s. DAY 4: Today’s challenge is Western Gailes, often used as the final qualifying venue when the Open is played at Royal Troon or Turnberry. DAY 5: Short drive to play Irvine Golf Club, one of Scotland’s hidden gems. The R&A uses this traditional links as an Open qualifying test. DAY 6: Play Turnberry’s Ailsa Course where Tom Watson almost won the Open Championship in 2009. Spend the night at the Turnberry Hotel. DAY 7: Depart from Inverness Airport. 7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS TOUR OF ST. ANDREWS / FIFE AREA OF SCOTLAND
DAY 1: Scheduled arrival at Edinburgh or Glasgow Airport. Drive to St. Andrews, your home base for the next six nights.
DAY 2: Play St. Andrews New Course. Many consider the New Course the more challenging of the six courses at St. Andrews.
DAY 3: Play St. Andrews Old Course, the home of golf! The Old Course has been the site of many Championships and hosted the British Open in 2015.
DAY 4: Short one-hour drive to Carnoustie to play a great British Open venue. Carnoustie hosted the 2007 British Open.
DAY 5: Drive six miles along the coast to play the beautiful new Kingsbarns Golf Club, which is a tribute to the rich heritage of links golf in Scotland. For more than half the holes the sea is directly in the golfer's frame of play, while other holes offer majestic vistas of the sea surging against rock formations.
DAY 6: Drive (15 minutes) to play Crail, a hilly seaside links course overlooking the North Sea.
DAY 7: Depart Scotland.

7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS TOUR OF THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS
DAY 1: Scheduled arrival at Inverness Airport, drive 1-¼ hours to Dornoch your base for the next three nights.
DAY 2: Play the gem of the highlands, Royal Dornoch. Those who make the journey north to Dornoch will not be disappointed in this great seaside links.
DAY 3: Play Tain, a seaside links designed by Old Tom Morris.
DAY 4: Drive 1 ½ hours to play the Nairn Golf Club, which sits on the scenic shore of Moray Firth. Nairn hosted the 1999 Walker Cup. Spend the next three nights in the Nairn / Inverness area.
DAY 5: Drive 2 ½ hours to play the very scenic, seaside links at Cruden Bay. This great course is nestled between the sand dunes and the North Sea, and offers the golfer several great views during the round.
DAY 6: Drive one hour to play the seaside links Old Course of the Moray Golf Club at Lossiemouth, another great work of art by Old Tom Morris built among the sand dunes.
DAY 7: Depart from Inverness Airport.
