Since its founding in 1886, Royal Lytham & St. Annes has played host to ten Open Championships, two Ryder Cups and many other major events. A surprisingly short course with more than 200 bunkers, Royal Lytham requires accuracy and thoughtful shotmaking on every hole. Surrounded by houses and bordering a railway line, Royal Lytham may not be quite as scenic as some courses, but its storied history and challenging layout make a trip here certainly worthwhile.
