Portmarnock Golf Club, consistently ranked among the best courses in Ireland , is unique in many ways. The well-bunkered track is laid out in serpentine fashion on a small peninsula reaching into the Irish Sea . Since each hole runs in a slightly different direction than the last, golfers must pay constant attention to wind direction. Portmarnock is a fair test, however. Fairways and greens are flatter than most links courses and there are no blind shots.
