Kilmarnock (Barassie)
Too often overlooked by golfing tourists, Kilmarnock is a quality links course just two miles north of the Royal Troon in Ayrshire County. Kilmarnock , or the Barassie Golf Club, as it is also known, is a very well-conditioned course with immaculate greens, deep, well-placed bunkers and a burn (brook) that runs through many holes. Doglegs are common and heather and gorse are plentiful. In addition, the greens are small and deceiving and some have no aprons, making approaches particularly challenging.
