Hotel Reykjavik Centrum

Hotel Reykjavik Centrum is a newer hotel, located on one of Reykjavik's oldest streets, in the heart of the city.  The hotel is actually three buidings designed in the style prevalent in Iceland in the early 1900's.  During its construction, the remains of a Viking longhouse were discovered.  An exhibition center beneath the hotel, displaying the longhouse and related items, is scheduled to open in 2006. 

The Centrum has 89 guestrooms all with en-suite shower or bath.  Each room is fitted with a host of modern amenities including satellite TV, telephone, Internet access, mini bar and in room safe.  The hotel's restaurant specializes in traditional Icelandic dishes, while the bar and cafe is a great place to relax at the end of a busy day.
